United Way SA volunteering opportunities
Fundraising Volunteer – Community Bingo Booths
United Way SA as part of the fundraising strategy currently operate five Community Bingo Booths in the Northern Region of Adelaide at the Hollywood Plaza, Parabanks, Elizabeth City Centre, Munno Para City Shopping Centre and Ingle Farm Shopping Centre. They are open every Monday to Saturday and Thursday evenings at Hollywood Plaza.
The role offers volunteers an opportunity to assist the organisation raise funds for our early literacy program. Each shift is approximately 6 hours. Are you able to spare a day a week or even a fortnight to help raise funds to help children improve their literacy?
Full training is provide
Customer service – the ability to talk to customers and share the wonderful work United Way SA is providing to the community
Cash handling – selling of bingo tickets
Banking reconciliation skills – end of day banking preparation

Possum’s Playhouse Volunteers
During the school term United Way SA hosts reading and craft sessions through Possum’s Playhouse. It is a community activity where children and their parents/carers can attend to listen to books being read followed with a craft activity. Volunteers are required to help facilitate and help with the craft activity. Also seeking volunteers to wear our mascot costumes for short periods of time during the session. Must love craft and enjoy working with children.
Throughout the year United Way SA organises events within the community to promotion and support our Imagination Library program and volunteers can become involved on many different levels including event office administration, promotion, attending community events to assist where required with set-up, set down, reading to children, which can take place in kindergartens, schools and community centres, or even volunteer to attend an event as one of our program Possum Mascots, either Penny or Percy!

Individuals using their knowledge, contacts, skills and talents, and passion to contribute to specific strategic targets of United Way SA including applying for Board of Management position, assist with targeted projects which could cover organisations needs in social media, financial management, office administration, graphic design, marketing, strategic planning, advocating through Corporate and Community links.
