United Way SA is excited to offer the following volunteering opportunities
Fundraising Volunteer – Community Bingo Booths
United Way SA as part of the fundraising strategy currently operate four Community Bingo Booths in the Northern Region of Adelaide at the Hollywood Plaza, Parabanks, Elizabeth City Centre and Munno Para City Shopping Centres and where possible are open through every Monday to Sunday and Thursday evenings.
The booths offer volunteers an opportunity to assist the organisation and utilise, or gain customer service, sales and cash handling and reconciliation skills whilst connecting with the community. The booth’s also provides volunteers with a great opportunity to experience a strong volunteer team environment.

Fundraising Volunteer – Eyes Down Bingo
United Way SA run Eyes Down Bingo sessions several times a week in locations situated in the northern region. Eyes Down Bingo sessions currently take place in the evenings and volunteers assist in the operation of these fun community fundraising events.
Volunteer duties at the Eyes Down Bingo events can be varied from calling bingo, setting up of venue, customer service and sales, checking winners, cash handling and reconciliation, and event organisation. Great for volunteers that may only be available evenings, and day time sessions may be coming soon! The Eyes Down Bingo volunteer team are very committed in the knowledge that their volunteering assists United Way SA to financially support disadvantaged children’s early literacy program within their local area, as attested too in this news article!
Event Volunteer – Zoo Day
The Zoo Day event comprises United Way SA inviting up to 1,000 people to the Adelaide Zoo, equating to approximately 200 families and many volunteer roles are required to assist with event preparation and administration, bump in and bump out at the Adelaide Zoo, greeting and assisting families at the Adelaide Zoo and assist in providing fun events throughout the program.
Event Volunteer – United We Read & Read Aloud events
Throughout the year our 2 major community programs United We Read and Read Aloud will organise events within the community in promotion and support of these valuable programs and volunteers can become involved on many different levels including event office administration, promotion, attending community events to assist where required with set-up, set down, reading to children, which can take place in kindergartens, schools and community centres, or even volunteer to attend an event as one of our program Possum Mascots, either Penny or Percy!

Individuals using their knowledge, contacts, skills and talents, and passion to contribute to specific strategic targets of United Way SA including applying for Board of Management position, assist with targeted projects which could cover organisations needs in social media, financial management, office administration, graphic design, marketing, strategic planning, advocating through Corporate and Community links.
